The morphological features of sea turtles make them genuine floating bases for certain marine species that are looking for settlement areas to develop part or all their life cycle, generating a real ecosystem that shifts in the ocean. The present study analyzes the interaction of 29 epibiont species observed living on loggerhead (Caretta caretta) turtles of Canary Islands, for deepening into this ecosystem, and obtain more information about turtles through the specific characteristics of the epibionts that colonize them.
