Estudio numérico-experimental de las transformaciones del oleaje en aguas poco profundas

Abstract

(...) El presente trabajo pretende contribuir a la mejora del conocimiento de las propiedades de oleaje en zonas de profundidad reducida. Para ello, se aborda el problema de la transformación del oleaje en este tipo de regiones desde dos puntos de vista que, aunque diferentes en esencia, resultan ser complementarios. En primer lugar, se examinan las características de la transformación del oleaje considerando su naturaleza aleatoria, con el fin de profundizar en el conocimiento de la evolución de su estructura probabilística, así como poner de manifiesto los diferentes fenómenos físicos involucrados en su transformación. En segundo lugar, se estudia dicho fenómeno partiendo de los conocimientos físicos existentes para poder predecir su propagación de forma determinista, mediante modelos numéricos. En ambos casos, se hace uso de información experimental obtenida mediante medidas a la naturaleza y en modelos físicos, contrastando la validez relativa de los modelos estocásticos propuestos, así como la correspondiente utilidad de las aproximaciones numéricas.
