Abstract

In this paper I present a terminological study on terms used in aeronautical texts on fighter-aircraft fuel systems. I have extracted a sample of terms in texts of similar thematic addressed to readers with different knowledge on the matter –experts, students and lay people. Once the sample has been isolated, I have analyzed different aspects of the terms: methodology of term formation, origin, etymology, presence of foreign terms, synonymy and polysemy. With this study, I aim at achieving a better knowledge of terms in aeronautical texts with different degrees of specialization.
