La tradición del cuento popular en Canarias

Abstract

The origins of popular tales in The Canarian Islands come from the period of the Conquest: on the one hand, a rich stream of Western oral tradition came into the islands; on the other hand, the voice of the natives was kept alive through their oral tales and leyends. The recovery of such ancient texts has allowed us to know what has survived in the tradition of the popular tale in the Canarian Islands up to the present time.
