Abstract

Se revisan las diferentes técnicas para el control y tratamiento del agua residual, procedente de las plantas destiladoras de alcoholes y un procedimiento no convencional es diseñado para vinazas, obtenidas como residuo de la fermentación y destilación del jugo de la caña de azúcar. Las pruebas de coagulación-floculación realizadas en equipo jar test prueban la obtención de efluentes limpios verificados por la NTU, no obstante la tasa de disminución de la DBO5 fue menor del 40%, por lo que la técnica diseñada necesita ser combinada con un postratamiento oxidante, después del cual el efluente postrado satisface los parámetros normativos. Se realiza en términos económicos un análisis comparativo de la técnica físico-química respecto del convencional procedimiento anaerobio+aerobio. El resultado obtenido muestra que en plantas artesanales es viable un tratamiento de coagulación+floculación, siempre que el caudal de vinazas a tratar sea inferior a 15 m3 / día.
