Abstract

This paper re-opens the trendy debate on the use of multicultural literature in the Foreign Language classroom as a means to educate in tolerance for the differences aroused by otherness. We offer a comprehensive survey of the most salient authors who support the use of literature in the FL classroom and studies which bet for the benefices of multicultural literature. Finally, to conclude the debate, we offer a great array of children’s and young adult’s multicultural literature to be exploited in the classroom from a didactic point of view. These deal with culture and sexual orientation issues.
