Democratic societies must ensure the protection of children's rights and guarantee their free development. These objectives are the backbone of the educa-tion system, as they are actually compulsory public policy requirements in the edu-cational field. Education must (i) provide neutral and comprehensive information on the different value systems; (ii) preserve the psychological balance of children under the educational direction of subjects with conflicting cultural assumptions; (iii) ensure the recognition of the cultural identity of every child; (iv) and provide them with the knowledge to make life choices, while showing the benefits of social cooperation in their self-fulfilment.
