Huerto escolar como centro de aprendizaje

Abstract

El aprendizaje significativo, duradero y que deja huella es aquel que se construye vivenciándolo en primera persona. Como elemento importante para poder trabajar en esta línea se plasma la creación de un huerto escolar como centro de aprendizaje, aprovechando las parcelas de tierra de las que dispongan los centros, o en su caso, si no hay terreno de cultivo, habilitar una zona donde poder crearlo a través de la utilización de materiales reciclados, abriendo un línea de trabajo dirigida a la concienciación sobre la contaminación de este tipo de materiales. Con el conseguimos fomentar el respeto por el entorno, lo cual les ayudará a convertirse en adultos responsables y sensibles con el mismo en el futuro. El huerto escolar se puede utilizar como recurso multidisciplinar ya que a través de él se pueden abordar contenidos relacionados con la educación ambiental y el entorno natural, desarrollándose de forma grupal y colaborativa; el desarrollo de relaciones positivas, de esfuerzo, orgullo, concienciación, convivencia así como establecerlo como un posible estímulo en la concienciación y fomento de la relación con una alimentación saludable entre el público infantil y sus familias. Se propone entonces, como una fuente de influencias saludables, actividad física, dieta sana y equilibrada.
