Citotoxicidad de la eupatorina en células leucémicas humanas

Abstract

Se describen los efectos de la flavona natural eupatorina sobre la viabilidad celular de tres líneas de leucemia humana y se aportan evidencias sobre su mecanismo de acción. Este compuesto induce parada del ciclo celular en la fase G2-M y muerte celular por apoptosis implicando la activación de múltiples caspasas, la liberación de citocromo c mitocondrial y el procesamiento del enzima de reparación del ADN poli(ADP-ribosa) polimerasa. Esta flavona activa la cascada de las proteínas quinasas activadas por mitógenos y la muerte celular es atenuada por la inhibición de las proteínas quinasas N-terminal de c-jun/proteínas quinasas activadas por estrés. Las vías de señalización de muerte celular desencadenadas por la eupatorina implican las vías intrínsecas y extrínsecas de activación de caspasa.
