Abstract

El carcinoma de cérvix continúa siendo una neoplasia frecuente en nuestro medio, siendo la radioterpia (RT) el tratamiento de elección en la mayoría de los estadíos. El estudio de determinadas características que nos ayuden a definir el curso evolutivo de un tumor en cada paciente en concreto, y así poder individualizar el tratamiento, es una constante en la investigación oncológica. En primer lugar, se analizó un grupo homogéneo de pacientes con carcinoma epidermoide de cérvix, tratadas de forma radical con RT, poniéndose de manifiesto el papel relevante de la masa tumoral, estimada mediante el estadío y el tamaño tumoral, para el control local.
