Anomalías morfológicas en peces cultivados: heredabilidad y selección

Abstract

Las anormalidades morfológicas son alteraciones de la morfologíadel pez respecto a un estándar de calidad, cuya incidencia está asociadaa la intensificación del cultivo de especies de peces de interés comercial.Estas afectan a la viabilidad de las empresas por su repercusión económica directa en el momento de la venta de los peces e influencia en losrendimientos productivos. Para evitarlas, las empresas llevan a cabo,esencialmente, actuaciones de manejo, alimentación y procesos regu-lares de criba de los lotes de producción. Sin embargo, la intervencióngenética es escasa por la falta de esquemas de selección y genealogíasconocidas dentro de las empresas, y consecuentemente del grado dedeterminación genética de las anormalidades morfológicas. En estetrabajo se presenta una revisión de las principales malformaciones que afectan a los peces de cultivo (forma corporal, pigmentación, escamas yesqueleto), considerando sus causas, especialmente su grado de deter minación genética y utilización en programas de mejora genética
