Abstract

La presente tesis describe el estudio de microorganismos de la Clase Mollicutes en organismos marinos. El primer capítulo corresponde a la justificación, a una revisión bibliográfica de las bases teóricas del estudio, así como sus objetivos propuestos. El segundo capítulo concierne a la elección de la pareja de cebadores de Van Kuppeveld y colaboradores (1992) para la detección de mollicutes a través de una PCR a tiempo real. Fueron escogidos por su adecuada especificidad y sensibilidad después de compararlos con otros cuatro pares de cebadores específicos para la detección de mollicutes indicados por otros autores. El tercer capítulo relata la metodología y resultados de la búsqueda de mollicutes en 72 cetáceos varados en el Archipiélago Canario entre los años 2010-2013, 80 pinnípedos de la Antártica (2010-2011), 112 peces de acuicultura o del medio natural, 12 grupos de 20 a 40 medusas y 9 cefalópodos. Para su detección e identificación fueron utilizadas técnicas rutinarias de cultivo de mollicutes y de genética molecular. El análisis de la secuencia entera o de fragmentos de los genes ARNr 16S y ARNr 23S, así como de la región intergénica entre ellos (ISR) fue una valiosa herramienta para la identificación taxonómica de las especies encontradas, cuando fue posible.
