Estudio sociolingüístico de algunas formas de tratamiento en el habla de Vegueta (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria)

Abstract

El avance del tuteo en nuestra sociedad, en contextos incluso tan dispares como el familiar y el formal, es la hipótesis de la que hemos partido para realizar un estudio sociolingüístico sobre el uso de las formas de tratamiento "tú" y "usted" en el habla de Vegueta de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. En el trabajo se responde a preguntas como: ¿es este cambio predominantemente propio de las clases socioculturales más bajas?, ¿afecta, en especial, a las generaciones más jóvenes?, ¿regula el contexto comunicativo el tipo de tratamiento? Por otro lado, tratamos otras dos cuestiones aisladas, una de ellas se refiere al término que se utiliza para designar al cónyuge: "mujer" / "esposa" / "señora", por quién y en qué contexto; la otra, al uso del diminutivo -ito en los nombres propios: ¿en qué valor se utiliza en la ciudad?, ¿es esta construcción síntoma de rusticismo y por tanto abandonada y estigmatizada?
