It is shown for the first time that flowers of different species of the genus Narcissus L. which visibly show yellow flowers to humans, show different levels of UV light absorption in certain parts, presumably visible to insects. Furthermore, large amounts of absorbed UV are observed, therefore, the result of this experiment provides biological, but at the same time technical data, possibly applicable to the development of anti-reflective materials.
