Twenty-five from 440 cases of hip arthroplasty were treated ·by rescue operation because of mechanical failures after the first operation. The resurfacing model of arthroplasty" gave the poorest results. In 7 patients (28%) the results were very poor. The complications are analysed and the bibliography is reviewed. The authors hop the new types of cementless prothesis are the best solution for these failures
