Abstract

The aim of our research is to study the results of the operated cases of Total Hip Prothesis type Mittelmeier, that needed reoperation. A total of 27 cases out of 150 arthroplasties implanted in three hospitals from 1980 to 1987 require revision 27. The motive for revision has been: Deep infection, 2: dislocations, 3; movilization of socket, 3; pain in thigh, 8; mobilization of stem, 7: deformity of femoral head, 1; femoral anteversion, 1; mixed loosening, 2. The results show that there was less pain in 24 cases (89%). The study lets us to conclude that the first reason for surgical revision is pain in thigh because of femoral failure.
