Artrosis de tobillo: tendencias terapéuticas actuales

Abstract

Ankle osteoarthritis is the final stage of post-traumatic or rheumatic processes affecting the joint. So far, in advanced stages, the proposed treatment of these patients was the tibio-talar fusion, which is done arthroscopically choice providing there are no alterations of axes. With a severe disruption of axes in the lower limb realignment of self improvement often painful clinic. After the initial failure of ankle arthroplasties, the current third generation present a more promising short and medium term. The indication of arthrodesis or arthroplasty should be individualized for each patient according to their personal and anatomical characteristics.
