The Institutionalization of Basque Literature, or the Long Way to the World Republic of Letters

Abstract

The aim of this brief presentation will be to consider the process of autonomization and thus, the universalization of Contemporary Basque literature. We will now analyze the challenges faced by the Basque literary institution, particularly those relating to Basque university studies, as a result of this new reality. Our proposal will finish with questions relating to the possibilities minority literature has in reaching the World Republic of Letters, and the important role of the incipient network of Basque lecturers within the same.
