Demografía del endemismo valenciano Limonium perplexum L. Sáez & Rosselló (Plumgabinaceae)

Abstract

Limonium perplexum (Plumbaginaceae) is a Valencian endemic, only known from a single population in Sierra de Irta (north of Castellón province, East of Spain). This species is critically endangered due to its small population size. During the last ten years we have studied the size of the population, which wavered between 75 and 383 (mean 213). Regarding the population size, the lowest number of individuals was recorded in 2004, probably due to the adverse climatic conditions. Comments on risks affecting the stability of the population of L. perplexum are included.
