De las buenas mujeres: su imagen y caracterización en la literatura ejemplar de la Edad Media

Abstract

La condición de la mujer medieval, tanto en el ámbito social y privado como en el cultural, siempre ha despertado el interés de los especialistas, sobre todo en las últimas décadas'. Del mismo modo, las mujeres, ya en calidad de autoras o lectoras, ya como personajes, ocupan un lugar significativo e incuestionable en el universo literario. La plasmación literaria de la mujer que nos brindan los textos medievales normalmente se distribuye en dos categorías contrapuestas: buenas y malas mujeres; dichas categorías están en total consonancia con la concepción en tomo a la fémina que guía la ideología del medievo. En este trabajo se estudian los atributos que dibujan y conforman la virtud femenina, tomando como base los ejemplarios castellanos medievales, a partir de tres niveles de actuación que permiten diferenciar su papel social, moral e intelectual.
