La educación intercultural en el debate de las competencias básicas

Abstract

Las competencias básicas vienen definidas de manera bastante ambigua en algunos casos para promover el debate y también para permitir un uso ágil por parte de los profesionales. Consideramos que esta ambigüedad calculada, es una buena ocasión para iniciar un pequeño debate en torno a un tema de actualidad como es la educación intercultural. Siempre partiendo de la perspectiva de la Didáctica de la Lengua y la Literatura, querríamos con esta comunicación dar lugar a un pequeño debate sobre el tratamiento más adecuado de esta corriente educativa. A tal efecto, analizamos una veintena de libros de literatura infantil y juvenil seleccionados por criterios de calidad (premios, reseñas, listas de selección, etc.) para comprobar qué tipo de trabajo intercultural se podría llevar a cabo con ellos y qué tipo de competencias se trabajaría de manera más intensa. De este modo pretendemos proporcionar algunas pautas para la reflexión sobre el enfoque adecuado tanto de las competencias básicas como de la educación intercultural.
