Abstract

Commented translation, from Arabic into Catalan, of the excerpts from the Book of Roger, written by the Muslim geographer al-Idrīsī, referred to the Catalan Countries and by extension to the whole territory of the former Crown of Aragon. The selected original text has been taken from the critical edition of the Nuzhat al-Muštāq or Kitāb Rujīr (Book of Roger) published by the Istituto Universitario Orientale di Napoli. The novelty is that so far these Arabic excerpts had never been translated into Catalan and just a few into Spanish.
