Aplicación de la teledetección al estudio de la temperatura superficial del mar balear y golfo de Valencia

Abstract

En este estudio se analizan varias imágenes térmicas HCMM y Landsat 5 (TM) referentes al Mar Balear y Golfo de Valencia respectivamente. Se ha tratado de establecer la relación existente entre la distribución espacial de la temperatura del mar y los procesos de circulación marina, así como de analizar la evolución de la temperatura a lo largo del año. El Golfo de Valencia aparece como una zona de confrontación de masas de agua de características térmicas diferentes, cuya situación varía según la época del año. En el mes de septiembre se observa la presencia de una importante masa de agua relativamente más cálida, situada en la mitad suroccidental del Mar Balear y frente a las costas alicantinas. Por otro lado, es ésta la época en la que se han registrado las temperaturas más altas en el Golfo de Valencia
