Norma lingüística e reproduçao social

Abstract

Este artículo analiza el papel de los medios de comunicación escritos en las normas lingüísticas partiendo de los presupuestos teóricos del Análisis Crítico del Discurso (Fairclough, 1992 y Chouliaraki & Fairclough, 1999). El conjunto de referencias teóricas integra las formas simbólicas que ayudan a establecer o apoyar relaciones de dominación entendidas como ideológicas (Thompson, 1995). El análisis nos permite inferir que, en buena medida, este discurso tiene un carácter ideológico, dado que refuerza percepciones, creencias y actitudes que contribuyen a mantener inalterados los prejuicios lingüísticos. Aun así, en menor medida, el discurso ha sido usado como una forma de resistencia a las asimetrías de poder y concentración de valores. El análisis puede contribuir a entender la interacción entre lengua y práctica social.
