Usos y abusos de drogas en contextos de prostitución

Abstract

Este trabajo examina los riesgos asociados al consumo de drogas en distintos entornos de prostitución (calle, clubs, saunas, apartamentos), a partir de los datos obtenidos mediante una encuesta a 260 mujeres que ejercían la prostitución y ocho grupos de discusión en seis provincias españolas. El consumo de alcohol, tabaco y cocaína fueron las drogas más usadas, con un patrón de consumo instrumental (excepto el tabaco), para facilitar la realización de los servicios sexuales. Las probabilidades de consumo de alcohol y cocaína se incrementaban cuando el cliente lo demanda, y presentaban ciertos beneficios para las mujeres, como ocuparse con un mayor número de clientes y el incremento de los ingresos económicos. A la vez, estos consumos podían tener consecuencias negativas, como la pérdida de control en la negociación y realización de las prácticas sexuales, y la dependencia a estas sustancias. Los eventos violentos y la desprotección en las prácticas sexuales surgieron como riesgos que enfrentaban, siendo mayor con el consumo de drogas. Algunas mujeres articulaban estrategias para disminuir el riesgo del consumo de drogas.
