Abstract

Este libro examina las relaciones bilaterales entre España y Estados Unidos durante tres décadas cruciales (1936-1964), revelando cómo el régimen de Franco se apoyó en una estrategia de política exterior que, en plena Guerra Fría, encontró aliados estratégicos en diversos sectores estadounidenses. A través del análisis del ‘Spanish Lobby’ y su capacidad para influir en políticos, empresarios y militares, se desentraña la compleja red de intereses económicos, ideológicos y geopolíticos que acercaron a ambos países. Con un enfoque riguroso, esta obra arroja luz sobre figuras clave, como el embajador Lequerica y el bufete de Charles Patrick Clark, y explora la influencia de los militares estadounidenses en la reconfiguración de las relaciones internacionales de España. Más que una historia de alianzas, este libro es un análisis profundo de las tensiones, los intereses y las negociaciones que definieron un periodo crucial en la diplomacia contemporánea.
