De catastros y trabajos: el Catastro de Ensenada

Abstract

El monográfico "De Catastros y trabajos: el Catastro de Ensenada" tiene el objetivo reflexionar sobre la relevancia de los catastros para el estudio del trabajo, centrándose en el Catastro de Ensenada como corpus documental para explorar las actividades económicas de varones, mujeres y menores en el siglo XVIII. Esta iniciativa representa un punto de partida para seguir analizando la fuente más allá de su importante capacidad estadística, como tradicionalmente se ha hecho en la historiografía española. Nos planteamos indagar cómo esta tecnología del poder categoriza y registra el trabajo en una sociedad donde la pluriactividad, la estructura del hogar y los marcadores de género y clase caracterizan la estructura ocupacional. Este enfoque revela la complejidad de los registros del Catastro de Ensenada y nos insta a formular nuevas interrogantes sobre la fuente, así como a examinar críticamente los datos y las codificaciones. Los ensayos presentados en este dossier ilustran la riqueza de del corpus documental y la importancia de contar con metodologías y marcos teóricos sólidos que abran horizontes de investigación aún inexplorados.

Este monográfico se ha realizado en el marco de los proyectos I+D+i: «La transformación de la estructura de la ocupación en el largo plazo, España, 1700-1975. Las ocupaciones no agrícolas como indicador de la modernización económica» [PID2021-123863NB-C21] y «Familia, dependencia y ciclo vital en España, 1700-1860» [PID2020-119980GB-I00] financiado por MCIN/ AEI/10.13039/501100011033/, y del Grupo PAIDI HUM603 de Estudios de las Mujeres y el Grupo Catastro-Lecrín.
