Numerosas investigaciones han estudiado los efectos de la ansiedad en el aprendizaje de una lengua extranjera, concluyendo que esta variable impacta negativamente en el proceso de aprendizaje de un idioma, así como también en el proceso cognitivo. La ansiedad está relacionada con la aprensión comunicativa, el temor a una evaluación negativa y la ansiedad ante los exámenes. Sin embargo, una revisión de la literatura no ha evidenciado investigaciones sobre el estudio de esta variable en el contexto universitario español donde se aprende alemán. El propósito de este estudio es analizar los sentimientos de ansiedad de tres titulaciones diferentes. Un total de 120 estudiantes participaron en el estudio. Los datos se recogieron con la Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS), de Horwitz, Horwitz y Cope (1986). Los resultados revelan que los estudiantes presentaron una ansiedad media a alta, reflejada en elevados porcentajes respecto a la aprensión comunicativa, los exámenes y el temor a una evaluación negativa por parte del profesor y compañeros.

The effects of anxiety on foreign languages learning have been studied in many publications. Researchers have concluded that this variable has a negative impact on the language learning process, as well as on the cognitive process. Anxiety is related to communicative apprehension, fear of negative evaluation and test stress. However, a literature review has shown that no research has been developed concerning the study of this variable in the Spanish university context, where German is a subject of study. The aim of this paper is to analyze the feelings of anxiety in three different degree programs. A sample of 120 students is treated in the study. Data were collected using the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS), Horwitz, Horwitz and Cope (1986). The results reveal that the students suffered from average to high anxiety levels, which is reflected in high rates in relation to the communicative apprehension, a negative test evaluation, and the fear of negative evaluation by the teacher and classmates.
