Abstract

En los últimos años, ha tenido lugar un fuerte desarrollo de la Microscopía Electrónica en España a través de la adquisición de numerosos equipos y la creación de Sen/icios Centrales en las Universidades y Centros de Investigación; que han hecho posible una mayor presencia de nuestro país en las distintas actividades de la comunidad científica internacional. Dicha presencia debe ir avalada por la difusión de los conocimientos. En este sentido, éste volumen -que recoge los distintos trabajos que se presentaron en la XVI Reunión Bienal de la Sociedad Española de Microscopía Electrónica-, pretende mostrar un conjunto de publicaciones que revelan su estado actual en España. Como es lógico pueden faltar aportaciones de investigadores que, por una u otra razón, no acudieron a la Bienal; sin embargo creemos que el fin de ver recogido de modo amplio los trabajos que caracterizaron el encuentro mayoritario de científicos españoles contribuirá a un mayor conocimiento de nuestra labor. El volumen se divide en dos grandes campos que a modo de áreas temáticas comprenden el mundo orgánico e inorgánico. Por otro lado, como cualquier publicación, éste volumen va precedido por un cúmulo de problemas que es necesario ir venciendo paulatinamente, empezando por las limitaciones económicas y por la propia existencia de factores -a veces no tangibles-, que obstaculizan la labor. Vencidos dichos problemas ve hoy la luz éste volumen en un momento próximo a la celebración del EUREM 92. Este hecho no solo es casual sino que servirá de presentación de la labor de la Microscopía Electrónica española.
