El licenciado Francisco Pacheco (1535-1599) celebró la apertura de la Alameda de Hércules en Sevilla (1574) con un epigrama latino, hasta hoy inédito. El artículo ofrece su edición y traducción, así como un estudio de su composición que muestra cómo el humanista ha optado por imitar un modelo de la Antigüedad clásica, Marcial, en los tres niveles de creación: inuentio, dispositio y elocutio.
