Desarrollo y aplicación de cámaras bentónicas para la cuantificación de flujos en sistemas costeros.

Abstract

Se ha diseñado una cámara bentónica autónoma de pequeñas dimensiones, lo que permite la toma de muestras y la obtención de datos a tiempo real para el estudio de los flujos bentónicos en sistemas costeros. En el laboratorio se han realizado distintas pruebas para comprobar el funcionamiento de la cámara, asegurando que el consumo es estable y que la cámara es estanca. La cámara bentónica encierra un volumen de 47,21 L. El volumen de agua incubado está sometido a una continua agitación por parte de tres bombas centrífugas que simulan las condiciones hidrodinámicas naturales del medio. En función del voltaje aplicado a las bombas los valores de flujo y espesor de la interfase sedimento-agua (o también llamada capa límite difusiva, DBL) van a verse afectados. El espesor de DBL para voltajes de 3,5, 4,0 y 4,5 voltios varía entre 190 y 564 µm. Los flujos de calcio estimados son de 128,65 mmol m-2 d-1 y 158,62 mmol m-2 d-1 para un voltaje de 4,0 y 4,5 voltios respectivamente.
