Abstract

ABSTRACT: This paper describes the experience of formulation, development and application of the educational videogame Lancel’anzuelo®, which simulates the making decision process of four fishing companies located in the Uraba´s Gulf that compete for reaching financial returns. These game show concepts related to responsible and sustainable management of resources and enrich the learning of the participants by the discussion about their decision making process, achievements in the game and impact on the environment. System Dynamics Simulation was used for setting the parameters of the videogame, then the model was implemented in the adequate programming language to make possible that several players can play the game online at the same time. Lancel’anzuelo was applied to the students belong to Operations Research and Management courses of the Industrial Engineering undergraduate program not only in presence but in virtual mode. This game has been played in several universities and academic programs with similar results.
