Abstract

RESUMEN: Se realizó un estudio para determinar la variación de las emisiones de Monóxido de Carbono (CO) cuando se modifica la humedad del aire de premezcla en un quemador atmosférico trabajando con Gas Licuado del Petróleo (G.L.P.) y Gas Natural (G.N.). Para el caso del G.L.P., al modificar la humedad absoluta del aire primario desde 0,01223 hasta 0,03493 kg agua/kg aire seco, se halló que el nivel de emisiones de CO varió de 0,1819 a 0,2540% en volumen, representando un incremento del 38%. Con el Gas Natural se varió la humedad entre 0,01397 y 0,03228 kg agua/kg aire seco, obteniéndose emisiones de CO entre 0,0942 y 0,1020% en volumen que corresponde a un incremento del 8,5%. El estudio demostró que es mucho más pronunciado el efecto de la humedad del aire cuando la combustión se realiza con G.L.P. pues se llegan a sobrepasar los niveles máximos permisibles de Monóxido de Carbono.
