Abstract

RESUMEN: En el presente artículo se realiza una introducción al sistema de Gestión de Bases de Datos (SGBD) POSTGRES. Se presenta la evolución del sistema desde su comienzo como un proyecto de investigación de la universidad de Berkeley hasta lo que es hoy en día, un proyecto de investigación a nivel mundial debido a las ventajas del internet. Se describe en forma simple su arquitectura y su funcionamiento en lo relacionado a la gestión de páginas y al procesamiento de las consultas.
