RESUMEN: Un hallazgo que caracteriza las enfermedades autoinmunes es la presencia de autoanticuerpos, que participan directamente en la lesión tisular. Los eventos que disparan la constante producción son aún desconocidos, es posible que en estas entidades se dé una presentación antigénica persistente, que active linfocitos T y B pero, puede ocurrir que los linfocitos B sufran procesos de activación timo independiente con producción incontrolada de autoanticuerpos. Las sustancias o eventos que desencadenan estas situaciones involucran a las células presentadoras de antígeno ya sea macrófagos, células dendríticas o linfocitos B. Estas células son activadas por medio de los receptores de patrones moleculares, los cuales son el elemento fundamental de la inmunidad innata, si estos receptores son en realidad los iniciadores o perpetuadores de la activación de las células presentadoras, ellos explicarían la conexión entre la inmunidad innata y la autoinmnunidad.
ABSTRACT: A common finding that characterizes autoimmunes diseases is the presence of auto-antibodies directly involved in tissue damage. The events that trigger their constant production are still unknown, it is possible that these entities have a persistent antigen presentation able to activate T and B cells, B cells may undergo a thymus-independent activation processes leading to an uncontrolled production of auto-antibodies. The substances or events able to trigger these situations involve antigen presenting cells including macrophages, dendritic or B cells. These cells are activated through recognition receptors of molecular patterns, which are fundamental elements of innate immunity, if these receptors are in fact initiators or enhancers of antigen presenting cells activation, they would explain a connection between the innate immunity and the autoimmunity
