RESUMEN: Pocos inventarios mastozoológicos se han realizado en el norte de la cordillera de los Andes (Voss et al. 2002), especialmente en Colombia (Gómez Laverde 1994), donde esta cadena montañosa exhibe su mayor complejidad, (Cuervo et al. 2008). Por ejemplo; pocos estudios han sido realizados en la cordillera Central (Sánchez 2000, Sánchez et al. 2004) situación que hace pensar que es una de las mastofaunas más desconocidas en Suramérica (Voss et al. 2002).
