Abstract

ABSTRACT: In Colombia, a country with a wide geographical diversity, it has not been yet performed an atmospheric corrosion study including sites with different aggressiveness. In this paper, behavior of carbon steel, galvanized steel and aluminium exposed during 8 months in 21 Colombian sites of different aggressiveness was evaluated. Furthermore, using CLIMAT method, a bimonthly classification of atmospheres was made. Finally, corrosion rate of materials were correlated with atmospheric parameters measured in test sites as temperature, relative humidity, and sulphates and chlorides concentration
