Abstract

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial">Los accidentes por picadura de artrópodos venenosos son frecuentes en los países tropicales donde existe una gran cantidad de especies; algunas de ellas poseen venenos tan poderosos que pueden comprometer seriamente la salud de las personas picadas. La acción de los venenos es variada y muy diversos los cuadros que originan, desde reacciones localizadas de evolución rápida hasta compromiso sistémico grave que puede ocasionar la muerte. En este artículo se revisan aspectos entomológicos, toxicológicos, clínicos y terapéuticos de estos accidentes.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial">Arthropods. bites are common accidents in tropical countries where many different species of these animals exist; some of them have very powerful venoms that may seriously affect stung persons.
