Abstract

RESUMEN: En esta investigación se dan a conocer los factores que influyen en la presencia de estados de ánimo bajo en los adultos mayores del Centro de Protección Social al Adulto Mayor- Casa de la Divina Providencia de Puerto Berrío, Antioquia. Se optó por la metodología cualitativa basada en el análisis de entrevistas semiestructuradas de las cuales los focos principales fueron; La familia, las actividades, el cuerpo, creencias religiosas y la muerte. Las entrevistas se realizaron a cuatro adultos mayores institucionalizados en el centro geriátrico, de los cuales dos son hombres y dos mujeres. En primera instancia se pretendía investigar si el apoyo social era determinante para la depresión, no obstante, en el transcurso de la investigación se pudo evidenciar que existen otros factores que intervienen en ella como lo es el deterioro del cuerpo y los afectos que ello produce.

ABSTRACT: In this research are given to the factors that influence the presence of moods low in older adults from the center of Social protection to the adult - home of the Divine Providence of Puerto Berrío, Antioquia. He opted for the qualitative methodology based on the analysis of semi-structured interviews with the main focuses were; The family, activities, body, religion and death. The interviews were conducted to four elderly institutionalized at the geriatric Centre, of which two are men and two women. In the first instance was intended to investigate whether social support was decisive for the depression, however, in the course of the investigation demonstrate that there are other factors involved in it as it is the deterioration of the body and the affects that this produces.
