Machinability of plastics

Plastide lõiketöödeldavus

Abstract

Käesolevas töös uuriti mõningaid enamlevinud lõiketöötlemise viise eesmärgiga saada teavet, kuidas sõltub töödeldud pinna kvaliteet lõikerežiimi parameetritest ning lõikuri tüübist. Antud töö raames uuriti plastide lõiketöödeldavust arvprogrammjuhitavatel (APJ) frees-, trei- ja laserlõikepinkidel. Uurimisobjektideks valiti Eestis enamkasutatavad masinaehituslikud termoplastid. Käesolevas töös antakse kirjanduse põhjal ülevaade plastide lõiketöödeldavusest, soovituslikest lõiketöötlemise meetoditest, lõikerežiimidest ja lõikeinstrumentide omadustest (materjal, geomeetria). Töös teostati valitud plastide lõiketöötlemise katsed, kus mõõdeti ja visuaalselt hinnati lõiketöödeldud pindade pinnakaredust. Katsetulemuste põhjal koostati graafikud ja tabelid, analüüsiti tulemusi ja anti hinnanguid ja soovitusi lõiketöötlemiseks vastavalt katsetulemustele. Töö tulemused on eeskätt rakendatavad tootmisettevõtetes plastide lõikerežiimide valikul, töös läbi viidud katsete tulemuste põhjal saab edaspidi valida optimaalsed lõikerežiimid ning seetõttu vähendada tootmise käigus lõikerežiimide katsetamisele kuluvat aega. Lisaks sellele aitab optimaalsete lõikerežiimi parameetrite eelteadmine hinnata detaili töötlemiseks kuluvat aega, seega ka detaili maksumust.

In this paper, the study of machining is focused on plastics. Machining process of plastics includes milling, turning and laser cutting. This study aims to test a variety of cutting modes on selected plastic materials. This study provides an overview of Estonia’s most machinable thermoplastics, their use and properties. An overview of the literature of machinability of plastics, recommended cutting methods and treatment and features of cutting instruments is presented. Processed materials were visualy assessed along with the measurments of surface roughness device and the results were analyzed. Based on these analyzes and machining test results, asessments and recommendations for machning plastics were provided.
