It is believed that veganism is a new trend, but in written sources the beginning dates go back to the 6th century BC. The aim of the work was to study the history of veganism and find out the main reasons for becoming a vegetarian and the most popular wild plants used by vegetarians. Online poll was used as research method. A total of 97 people participated in the survey. 55 respondents were vegans and 41 were vegetarians. The main reason for the veganism was health which was mentioned 45 times. The most popular wild plants are berries and mushrooms followed by nettle, ground elder and dandelion. As a result of this work it can be said that the responses were fairly predictable but because the selection was rather small, then broader generalizations can not be made of the given results.
