Kasvukoha mõju viinapuude (Vitis sp.) saagi kvaliteedile

Abstract

Cultivars ’Hasanski Sladki’ and ’Zilga’ have been reasearched in Estonia for a long time as well grown in home gardens. Tha problem in the Nordic countries with the open field grapevine growing is the insufficient maturation of the berries, as an alternative is growing grapevines in greenhouse. Hypothesis according to this data: greenhouse grapes are mature before open field ones but may not have equal quality. The main aim of the experiment was to find out the effect of growing site, open field or greenhouse conditions, on the grapevine yield quality. The experiment was carried out in two vineyards: Rõhu Experimental Centre of the Estonian University of Life Sciences in open field conditions and at Saare-Tõrvaaugu gardening farm in Pärnu County in greenhouse conditions. Cultivars in the experiment were ʼHasanski Sladkiʼ and ʼZilgaʼ, both on open field and in greenhouse. Greenhouse grapes obtained sufficient maturity earlier than open field grapes and had better yield quality when compared to open field ones. In addition to properties of the grape cultivar, the growing environment had also a significant influence on grape maturation and yield quality, especially temperature and light conditions. Results obtained in this thesis are only applicable in the cases of the used cultivars – ʼHasanski Sladkiʼ and ʼZilgaʼ in concrete growing sites. While starting with grapevine growing and selecting a cultivar, an aspect that different cultivars react differently to different environmental conditions, should be considered. Although the grapevines in the experiment are recommended to be grown in open field and the grapes to be used in vine production, they also may be recommended to be grown in greenhouse conditions. In these conditions, the content of organic acids can be decreased to optimal level, the sugar content increased and grapes achive sufficient maturity earlier.

Sorte ʼHasanski Sladkiʼ ja ʼZilgaʼ on Eestis juba pikemat aega katsetatud, samuti on mõlemad sordid levinud Eesti koduaedades. Põhjamaades on avamaa viinamarjakasvatuses probleemiks marjade ebapiisav küpsemine, sellest lähtuvalt on alternatiiviks viinapuude kasvatamine kasvuhoones.
