Abstract

The romancero nuevo in the second half of the 17th century underwent an important change in the taste of the reading public, as can be seen in the book entitled Romances varios de diferentes autores. We are aware of numerous editions of this book between 1635 and 1668 which filled the publishing market with romances agermanados, jácaras and crimes of passion. In this paper we analyse the formation of these collections on the basis of the printed material we have found
