Estrategias de oposición a los derechos de salud sexual y reproductiva en América Latina

Abstract

La revalorización del cuidado como una ética social y ecológica ha comenzado a ganar espacio en la acción de movimientos sociales como el feminista, el ecologista, el movimiento por los comunes y las economías alternativas. Paralelamente, los Estados, a impulsos de redes y activistas feministas, han generado políticas públicas centradas en el derecho al cuidado y vinculadas a la protección social, dirigidas a poblaciones específicas que son identificadas por su grado de vulnerabilidad y/o dependencia (adultos mayores, infancias y personas con dependencia severa). Este artículo busca explorar la potencialidad de los cuidados para fortalecer entramados comunitarios y de acción colectiva capaces de enfrentar la privatización de lo social, la asignación patriarcal de los cuidados a las mujeres y la ausencia del reconocimiento a la ecodependencia de las bases materiales que sostienen la vida. La crisis climática, civilizatoria y de cuidados exige repensar las estrategias de fortalecimiento de las comunidades.
