Authors: Moreno Fernández, Ana;

Abstract

One of the biggest threats against sexual and reproductive rights in Latin America generally and in Argentina particularly, are the restrictive legislation regarding the access to the termination of the pregnancy. In this work it is analysed the attempt of 2018 to modify that legislation in Argentina, presenting the social and political process that accompanied the presentation and voting of a proposed bill that intended to modify this situation and that caused a deep division in the country between the ones that consider that the access to abortion is a right and those who designate it as an assault against human life. The process and principal arguments (in favour and against) are followed through the documentation offered by the Argentinian legislative chambers
