Consecuencias de la dieta vegana en adolescentes

Abstract

Introduction: At the beginning of time, the diet was based on the intake majority of vegetables, evolving into an opportunity for individual choice about one's own diet, which denotes evolution. Vegetarian diets at all levels of restriction may have nutritional deficiencies by excluding large groups of foods, such as VitB12, VitD, calcium, iron, zinc or protein. Epidemiological data of these diets are difficult to establish, but clearly experienced the great rise in the entire population, including adolescents who are very pressured and influenced by their relationships and internet. Objective: to identify the effects of the vegan diet in adolescents without established control. Methodology: the bibliographic search was conducted in Pubmed, Cinahl, Cuiden, Cochrane and Google academic with MESH thesauri, DeCS descriptors and Boolean operators. The uncontrolled language was also used, as well as the articles with filters and inclusion/exclusion criteria were delimited. Results: 31 items divided into two categories of analysis established that supplementation and consumption of fortified foods along with adequate knowledge of this type of diet in adolescents avoid deficiencies in the body and health problems long term Conclusion: adolescence, a stage of great changes, may be a good time to adopt healthy habits and many young people opt for the vegan diet, so it is essential that they are well informed and guided by professionals to avoid consulting unreliable sources such as the internet and present nutritional deficiencies
