New archaeological investigations. made in Southwestern Iberia during last years, have confirmed the cultual personality of irs populations, wich were called Celtic peoples in Pre-roman times, according to words of Ephorus, Herodotus, Strabo or Pliny. Las recientes investigaciones realizadas en el SO de la Península Ibérica han puesto de manifiesto la personalidad cultural de los pueblos llamados célticos en época pre-romana. Hoy se puede afirmar que las poblaciones que ocuparon las cuencas del Sado y Guadiana se caracterizaron por una específica identidad cultual, resultado de una nueva combinación de rasgos cultuales y étnicos tanto de raiz indignea, revitalizados tras el final de la influencia oriental, como de elementos culturales de fuera, vinculados con el substrato indoeuropeo de la Península y con Francia e Italia septentrional.
