Abstract

This paper analyses the evolution of economic context and main labour variables in the 3dr. quarter 2011 in Spain and Andalusia. Spanish economy is coming into a period of economic recession in a context of a deeper economic crisis in Europe with greater impact in the Mediterranean countries. As economic growth is declining, employment is also declining and unemployment rate grows. In this context, Spanish younger workers are especially concerned. In Andalusia, economic activity is moving in parallel relating to Spain as a whole. The higher unemployment rate in Spain during this period is registered in Andalusia.
