Desarrollo de software de simulación en Nanotecnología

Abstract

This final project studies the development process of a Web application to facilitate the accessibility of the scientific software tool GICM to any user in the field of nanotechnology with access to the Internet. The suggested application has been implemented in PHP language, to communicate with the server where the GICM scientific tool is hosted, and Javascript, to control the data on the clients end without collapsing the server and to adapt the display of the system to any device thanks to the Bootstrap framework. In addition, the implementation of a prediction method for the parameters is studied, in which, through the three parameters (dielectric constant of the thin film, dielectric constant of the sample and thin film thickness) the value that has to be assigned to another parameter (number of charges) can be automated for the proper functioning of the tool, without needing all the knowledge necessary to deduce the value of the parameter. This two implementations are identified as the main goals of the project: the development of a Web application adapted to the GICM software and a prediction method for the configuration parameters for the automatization of the software; adding those two goals the final goal is achieved, a Web application adapted to the GICM software with a automatized prediction system for the configuration parameters. The steps taken to create the application are described in the report as follows: the identification of the requisites, analysis, design and development of each one of the parts that compose the final application. Also a brief introduction to all the technologies used is made. At the end of the document the results obtained and the advancements achieved during the development process of the application are analyzed. Finally, future changes and proposals for the improvement of the work conducted are discussed.
