This paper examines the consolidation of court actions or joint litigation in ordinary civil proceedings and considers when it happens and its specific aims as well as the procedural requirements in the Spanish Civil Procedural Law. The author focuses mainly on the links between the legal actions required for the joint litigation and how the Spanish case law has clarified those law requirements. Finally the procedural handling of these questions is analysed.
